I am about to buy a Blackwing, and I was wondering if I should buy one of these (MAFT) also. I have seen where it has been recommended, but I have also heard that they are a waist of money. I am getting a powerloader in a couple of months, does that make a difference? Thanks,
-Jay
I think the MAFT is a good, relatively cheap way to generically tune your air/fuel levels... until you get to the point of having mods that would better respond to professional tuning...(like Ed Wright, Steve Cole) or LS1 Edit, which allows you to perform the same tuning yourself (for $550)...
Once you go Heads/cam, etc...
Until then, you'll probably be pleased with what the MAFT can do for you....if used correctly.
Hey Now:
If it was me, and planning on getting a powerloader, I would hold off on the MAFT.Then after loading, check with something like autotap and see where you are.
THe MAFT is a great tool for adjusting air fuel ratios. Its definatly a viable option for those that dont want to work with LS1Edit which is much more involved. Of course LS1Edit has more paramters to tune at a lower level.
