Column lock problem
Just purchased a 1999 from a forum member here.
It has the column lock bypass installed.
He loaded it up on the trailer without any problems.
When unloading at my house we got the "Remove key for 10sec" message along with the "Service Column LocK". We crawled it into my garage as the fuel cuts off if over 2mph.
Upon investigation fuse #23 was blown. Replace fuse and it blows immediately. I"m thinking the column lock motor is shorted.
Any help?
Thanks

Well, I found the relay and there is no jumper installed.
I know the PO and he has installed an aftermarket CLB.
There was a short where the purple wire that has a factory splice was making contact with the BCM case. I re-taped it and it no longer blows the fuse. There is no jumper on the relay. Do I need it?
Also the "service vehicle soon" error comes on. I have not driven it yet as I am giving the battery a full charge. Will removing the battery terminals clear all previous codes including the "service veh. soon" error?
Thanks for the response.
Dave..
