about our Forum?
It is the fact that even when one of us posts a "dumb" question, 90% of the responses are respectful, helpful and on target without making the poster feel dumb. I chalk up the other 10% to the natural, sometimes unthinking side of the human condition. Thanks to all for the maturity on our site!

I'm a member of too many forums to list and (not that I'm partial to Corvette Forum) the Corvette forum C5 Technical Section and General Section are some of the best going.
Most of the other forums I visit are no where near as mature or as helpful.
With everyone---I have had several bad experiences on the other popular LS website LS1 T_ _ H ----- hate to say it but many "wanna be's" over there and they are simply jealous of any corvette owner !!!!! We are not all spoiled rich dudes as they think
I work hard and I play hard---Also over there any guy with $3000 ( to buy a junk F-Body) and a socket set and screwdriver thinks he's an LS1 expert--
Being honest now-- I was kicked out of that site for arguing with some know it all 19 YO kid---He got the best of me and i lost my temper I admit--
This forum is the best--even for a tuner like myself I always find some useful information and am always willing to learn ---I've never had a bad experience here and I beleive it's because the preception of us being all spoiled rich arrogant guys is completely false -- 95% of the members are similar to myself --willing to learn-enjoy helping others--check in our egos at the door--and are somewhat learned. We solve ANY probelm by asking questions when we get stuck and applying the knowledge we've gained-----
CF is definitely a more mature crowd. It's probably a combination of age and the great work of the moderators.
I left the 3000GT/Stealth forum last year after selling my car and haven't been back there since. That forum had gone downhill in the last few years I was there. Only a small handful of guys left there that still know their stuff.
Sure would be nice if people tried search before starting a new thread on things that have been posted SEVERAL THOUSAND TIMES like OPS and Column Lock.

And I dont know why people care. Another column lock question? Just pass by it and move on.

I have to agree with all the replies above. When I first got my car in March 2004 I barely knew how to check my own oil.
Over the years of reading, and learning here I now have learned quite a bit. I'm no seasoned pro for sure, but I have learned on my own pace and tried to document as much as I could and put it on my web site for others to possibly learn from.
I have also been on various other sites, and they just don't compare to the specific knowledge base on this site.

Agreed, FruiTay. I get tired of the people that complain about the search feature more than the ones who don't use it. Not every one is a computer genius!
Were here to help, if you can't help...move on.
We have a great selection on the Corvette Forum. I have been a member of others and they do not have the same style as we find here on CF.
Has been a great place to learn and share, with a good group of folks. Always have the small element of "goofy folks" wherever you go, and that does seem to be a very small percentage on CF

When I first got my vette, I had never heard of the column lock issue. I was reading all the new posts to familiarize myself with my car when I first learned of this issue. I fixed my column lock immediately as a result. In fact, that's how I learned about most of the common issues with the C5. Then I use the search to get all the good info.
I just skip over the newbee stuff now. It doesn't bother me to see it.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
