Hello people, I'm new to the Corvette and this forum and I just wanted to ask what are the first basic mods I can do to my baby to make it gain more horse power to go as fast or faster than a C5 Z06. I did my research before buying it and this is the best deal I could find for $13,000 in my area, all the other corvettes I saw were more expensive with more miles, automatics and in much worse shape, I'd like to think I've got my moneys worth for this car but I could be mistaken. Anyway is a 6 speed 50th anniversary with a 9/10 interior/exterior and 102,xxx miles on it.
Its pretty fast but I'm not quite satisfied with the power. I'm used to drive very powerful 5.0 mustangs but with the corvette I don't want to do what I did with my mustangs and thrash the value of the car...please help. Any advise will be greatly appreciated. thanks
Bone stock corvette, and so far I've considered getting headers, cold air intake, K & N filters, X pipe, flowmasters and under drive pulleys. what do you think?

Welcome! The best bang for your buck would be the headers. Before you start to go wild with mods, you should get the engine checked to make sure that there are no "gotcha" gremlins about ready to strike. good luck!
I've owned a few Mustangs in the past as well. All of the same go fast goodies that made the Stang faster will make the Vette go faster also, they just cost more.
Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your corvette!
If you go to the C5 section you'll find a subsection on Tech related to the LS1 engine. I'd suggest you monitor that for a while. Also, I believe there is an entire website dedicated to LS1 tech. Just google it.
I for one think its best to make the most of the power that the LS1 already has. Upgrading your suspension and tires will give a very rewarding ride and allow you to really feel the car. You cant add much power and expect to be able to use it until you have the traction and handling dialed in.
