Default Where is this fluid coming from?

Almost pink fluid coming from the rear. Not all the time. Lifted the car up and nothing seems to be leaking. I did see a rubber tube between the diff and tranny pan. Kinda like an overflow tube of some sort. I think that's where it's coming from. Any ideas? Car is 98 A4.

If it is a pink colored fluid, it just about has to be transmission fluid.

What about the rubber tube between the pan and diff?

It looks to me like it is a vent for the trans. Just finished a filter and fluid change on my A4 and the hose comes from somewhere on top of the trans then "T"s to a check valve and continues down to the front of the differential. Mine was also getting some fluid from there and would drip once in a while. Hopefully the trans was just a little over full and now that it is at the correct level it will stop.

I am going to have to go with C5FORFUN2 on this one, since mine is a manual and I don't remember seeing any hoses coming off mine when I changed the fluid. That being said, did you recently change your fluid?

Gave it a good work out today and no leakage from the vent tube anymore. So I think it was just a little over filled before. I also extended the vent tube down to where it's actually touching the ground ( need to shorten it or let it wear off) But at least if it vents some fluid it won't end up on the front of the diff.

Thanks for the info. I don't have to worry about it now.
