I am upgrading the diff in my 2000 6sp with C6 Z06 shafts, clutches, etc. and considering upgrading the Torque Tube and shaft to a 12mm later year C5 with larger diameter prop shaft. Question is will the C6 Z06 prop shaft be an alternative or will it not fit? Have heard but cannot verify if the C6 shaft is too long. Thanks for any info.
Just an FYI. I see you already got what u wanted but the c6 shaft and torque tube are both longer and will not work in a c5. I tried to do the swap on my car when I had a pilot bearing go out and eat my input shaft. The bellhousing would have to be swapped to the ls2 single peice, also swap to the ls2 bearing and I think you have to use the c6 rear subframe.
I ended up machining the input shaft down further to a accept the ls2 style sealed bearing. Cost 50 bucks instead of 450 for a new input from gm.
These show the length difference. It's quite a bit

Just incase someone needs the info
Thanks. It will be helpful for others. I was told the C6 shaft was longer but your post verifies it for all to see.
