Default HEADER GP $ 699 ANYONE INTERESTED?

The RK Sport header is exactly like the TPIS. Fully ceramic coated. The only change is for the better. The header has flanges at the bottom instead of that stupid slip fit that the TPIS has. They look , perform and fit exactly the same. I need 9 confirmed orders to do this. Shipping will be $40. Let me know if you're interested.

What would the HP gains be on a mostly stock 98 Coupe? Is this a pure Bolt-on product and how would you rate the difficulty of the install? Thanks

Hey TomLzzz: If your not going to make many more mods, ask Andy if he'll sell you the TTS headers he's taking off his car.

BTW Andy, you still collecting used 3.15 diffs? I've got a good one with 60K on it in my garage. I'll give it to ya' for the cost of shipping.

THese headers are a long tube design. The TPIS which is the most popular C5 header is vitually the same. They used to manufacture them for RK and at some point RK started making their own with some minor improvements. THey put flanges at the bottom so the rest of the exhaust system can be easily bolted in and out after the original installation. This is a lot better design than that stupid slip fit collector that TPIS uses. Just one cut is needed in front of the cats. The flanges are welded on and ,after that ,the system is a simple bolt in and out affair. As headers go it's a fairly straight forward installation. Same as the TPIS and slightly easier than the TTS .
I think it's generally accepted that they are worth 20 HP on a mainly stock motor and an absolute necessity on a cam and heads motor. Not to mention that the car will sound better with them. Not necessarily louder just crisper and cleaner sounding. Gas mileage should improve a little also. Headers are just one of the basic hot rod mods that every engine benefits from.

I had a set of these, but never put them on. I examined them closely and did like their design, very similar to TPIS. Good luck guys.

I was about to buy these from you Thursday, but the picture on your website doesn't show these type collectors. So I wound up going with TPIS from another vender. :mad

Hot damn! That is a great deal, and count me in.

What do I do next? I've never ordered from a GP before. Do I send you an email, or order online or something?

Thanks,
Miles

Cool, sent you the email. I am psyched about getting LT headers!

Is there any installation info I could get a hold of for these specific headers? I'm hoping to be able to do the install myself, and take the car to the shop afterwards for the welding. Heard another forum member did the same thing with TPIS headers (I think), but can't find the old post.

Thanks,
Miles

$699 is a great price. :D

But with the hp gains, I only picked up ~6rwhp/tq on my car (after intake & exhaust but before the cam and pulley). And I think 2thDr got similar gains as mine also. :( Both of my before & after dynos were at the same shop, MTI.
