Hey guys, how are you? Been a while since I've been here, but I had a problem so I figured this was the place to go. My Black 2001 Z06 I've had for almost 3 years now. It has been highly modified and was told by the previous owner it was dynoed at around 600HP. Now I can't verify this, but I've had several 10 second race cars and I'd say that rating is pretty accurate.....Anyway, ever since I've had this car it has had, what I'd call, a "congestion" problem. By that I mean that it seems like it loads up, blowing some black smoke, until it reaches operating temperature. Now I can't tell you anything about the inter mods done to the engine because the kid I bought it from didn't build the car and he didn't get complete specs from the previous owner. However, the car is the LS6 and has very radical cam, polished 90 mm TB and a FAST Intake, bigger injectors and ported and polished heads, with full tube stainless headers and complete exhaust including a Borla system in the rear, no cats but has 02 sensors.
My question to you guy is, what can I do to fix this problem? I was told that there is a remedy to this problem in the form of a control module that tricks the PCM into believing that the emissions are correct and adjusts the engine accordingly!.......Anyone? Thanks, Curt
