My '99 with 48K total miles is giving me the oil change warning. Oil was done 8 months/5K miles ago. This seems a little early - in the past it has generally gone more like 7K miles/10-12 months.
Is this in the normal range?
Should I be concerned?
Will I ever find love? Oh, wait, different forum.
A little late to the thread, but I'd say this is normal depending on your driving style and habits. The OLM counts down via a complicated calculation that GM doesn't share. If you do a really long drive you can see that with hot oil crusing in 6th on the freeway it counts down at about 100 mi per percent which equates to about 10k miles on the oil change. But cold usage, startups (thus frequent starts and stops) all penalize this value. My 06 CTS-V that I used for a daily drive of about 5 miles counted down to 25% remaining in about 3-4K miles.
P.S. Yes!
