Ok i was gonna go for a quick ride and noticed my brake lights weren't working I checked all the fuses and all were fine. My hazards DONT work at all, neither do my turn signals, but my third brake light DOES work. I've read some threads about a kind of related problem, but the symptoms are different from what I'm experiencing, anybody have some idea of what the problem is???
Running lights are working? When my multi lever turn switch went out my brake lights worked but running lights didn't. I would check fuses (in case you haven't already) than hazzard switch.
Yeah I've checked all the fuses and they all checked out to be fine. I think I'm just gunna check both the hazard switch and the MFS I'm not sure how to fix the hazard switch without buying a new one but I'm sure I can figure it out! But removing tht dash is gunna be a pain in the ***!
I would check the hazard switch first. It is failure prone and common to all your issues. Try cycling it a bunch of times and see if anything starts to work again. It almost sounds like it is unplugged, but that would be odd for the connector to just unplug without being messed with. Pull the knee booster pad under the steering column and check the harness going up to the switch. It connects to a plug just under the ignition switch.
The multi-function switch is common to all your issues too but that would mean every contact related to the signals and brakes in that switch has failed at the same time. It failing typically causes the signal or brake on 1 corner to fail only.
I did just replace the ac blend doors maybe when i put everything back together I forgot to plug in that one connection I will check once I get home. Thanks for all the responses and the links to other threads. This website has saved me alot of money!!!! Hopefully the switch isn't broken and just unplugged.
thank you everyone for the responses i found the problem this afternoon. As a rookie doing almost everything on this corvette after replacing the blend doors i did forget to plug in that connection for the hazard switch. please help me on my next thread im about to start about my headlights.
