? about LS1 engine
Has anyone heard of a hotcam which is supposed to be the same cam used in the LS6 and i've been told it will take the LS1 up to 405hp is this correct or bs. Can anyone tell me what I should be paying for a new LS1 engine. Any help appreciated.

The Hotcam is not the same cam used in the LS6. It will give you more performance than the stock LS1 cam but you will not get 405 HP with just a switch to the GM Hot Cam. :nonod:

Thanks for the reply. My mechanics found the LS1 engine from gmperformance with the hotcam installed but gm can't provide actual figures stating that the engine puts out 405hp it is just their estimate from the specs of the cam which i hope someone here can tell me if it close, correct, or way off. I need to know because I can't spend so much on a egine just by taking their guesstimates on hp rating. By the way this engine is going in a 91 Z28 if anyones interested. :D Thanks for any help if anyone knows it will be someone here on corvetteforum.
