Default Quick belt question.

Hey guys, I just got done putting on some headers and as you know I had to remove the alternator. I have the belt back on now but I'm unsure of the positioning on the large center pulley.. they one thats smooth, no grooves. Should I be in the middle (pic 1) or close to the motor (pic 2)???

I know its a stupid question and common sense is telling me to center it but I'd rather not assume anything.

The wear marks will tell you where the belt runs. First photo looks best. It will find its own position once the motor turns as long as the belt is on correctly.

Won't matter where you put ... first time you crank up the engine, it'll find its home

Agreed, not a big deal as it will settle right away, but the position in the first pic is closest.
