1997 coupe - 34k miles. I am having the traction control light kick on inconsistently when I hit a bump. There is no rhyme or reason. The code is C1226 left front excessive wheel spin. Any suggestions?
Personal note: I am a novice at this and really appreciate you guys that really know your stuff!
The FEMALE pins inside the WSS system connectors are prone to spreading which causes a poor connection and loss of WSS data. You can use a metal dental pick or scribe and you can rebend the little toung back up so it makes better contact with the male pin.
NOTE!! There are female pins on the WSS connector on the frame K member AND in the WSS Jumper harness that connects the frame connector to the hub pigtail. CHECK THEM BOTH!
Do not use Silicone Dielectric Grease in the pins of the connector. You can apply it to the rubber weather tight connector seal to help keel moisture out!
I have not checked my manual yet, but, it was indicated that c1226 was the right front instead of the left front. Bill - do you know for sure which side it is? The code list I have all indicate the left front.

I couldn't get a straight answer to that question either. Just swap them side to side. It doesn't matter then.
My ESI Service Manual says right front. The wires at the female connector on the frame K member will be TAN and Dark Green as per the service manual. See if yours matches up
The connector on the left is new. The one on the right is BAD!!

As a matter of fact,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, that is the SAME connector that died on my 02 ZO6. Same color wires:
I was able to pull the connectors and clean them. They looked in good shape. I used an electric conductor cleaner and high pressure air. When I put the connectors back, I wrapped them with electrical tape to secure them. I then drove over rough roads and there was no code, bells or whistles. It seems to have fixed the problem which would indicate that c1226 is the front right. let me know if I have done something wrong. It seemed like the easiest solution to clean and wrap. It worked,,,,,, so far.
Having similar problem with the LR connector. From what I can see and have read, that there is not a jumper for the LR, its wired into the harness. Where can I get the connector with pigtails to splice in? Or is there another fix?
