And depending on the year, and auto or manual, 10mm or 12mm couplers

Default Two 10mm couplers

Your '00 FRC uses two 10mm couplers from the factory.

you may want to grease your bearings that can be found behind the bushings while you are at it. Don't know if this is an easy job or not. Think the bearings are compression fit.

Good luck.

Ok, ordering clutch parts now. I have 2 couplers, pilot bearing. I will be ordering a slave. But is a throw out bearing the same thing as a release bearing?

Some FACTS:

Your torque tube needs the smaller THINNER couplers (X2) The larger thicker couplers will NOT fit!

The bearings are SEALED and non serviceable.

Strongly recommend a remote bleeder kit be installed

You need a Slave cylinder & a release bearing (throw out bearing)

What clutch and or flywheel are you considering???

If you install anything other than an OEM Stock clutch, take the critical clutch disk air gap measurements that determine if you need shims behind the slave cyl.. MAKE SURE that you match balance the flywheel so you don’t have drive line vibrations. ZERO BALLANCING will not necessarily prevent the vibration problem from happening!

You need a special puller to remove the pilot brg. Small inside brg puller and they can be rented from AZ.

Thank you for the info. I was under the impression or was told that the grease could dry up in the bearings and cause a squeal. A forum member sell the couplers and the bearings so I am assuming that the bearings can be removed from the torque tube.

Please advise

Yes,,, The bearings can and sometimes do go bad. Yes,, They are replacable. You have to press them off the ends of the shaft and press them back on.

They are a sealed bearing and once they go bad, you just install a complete new bearing assy.

Be sure and look for the snap rings when you remove the old bearings and make sure to mark the shaft so it goes back in the same way. I drove the old bearings out with a hammer, not very difficult. Then put the new bearings in the freezer and heated up the housing with a torch. They dropped right in.

So the links you posted............are these the actual parts needed? If so, how many should be ordered? This seems like a much less expensive route to go then ordering the kit being sold.

NO,,, They are just pictures of bearings that I found on the INTERNET that are the TYPE found in the TT.

That Slave Cylinder looks correct but, it doesn't come with the throwout bearing. That is purchased separately.
