Hey guys,
im working on my c5 FRC. We build a custom driveshaft for the car, and thought that the Base cars and the z06's were closes to the same thing torque tube wise. Well once we build it to specs come to find out there is a differences between the cars. So the thing im asking for is Pictures between the two torque tube and measurements if you have them.
The shaft changed from using couplers with 10mm bolts to couplers with 12mm bolts. They were thicker so the shaft had to be a little shorter. It also changed from a bolt together transmission end (tube, bellhousing and bearing carrier all bolted together) to a 1-piece shaft and bellhousing with a big snap ring holding the bearing carrier. The shaft diameter also changed from something like 55mm to 85mm. Apparently, the auto C5's never changed to the larger coupler size or shaft size.
You can re-tap the holes in the input shaft and rear carrier shaft for the 12mm bolts if you found the larger shaft or built your own shaft.
