What is the most likely cause of brakes "creaking". I have Baer Decelarotors and Hawk Pads - about 5 years old (20k miles). When I first start up the car in the morning, apply the brakes and put it is drive, it makes a "creaking" sound? Is that just old pads? Never noticed it until the past few months. They also make the same sound in my first stop of two coming out of the driveway.
Is the sound only on the first applications after the car has sat overnight? If the sound stops after a few applications I would bet it's a light corrosion on the rotors.
I get that regularly on my daily driver when the overnight temperature is low. Once the corrosion is ground off they're quiet again!
Check your pads for brake material thickness. Visual inspection will tell you if they're excessively worn and need replacing.

I am replacing the rotors and pads this weekend so we will see. Surely that will fix whatever it is.
