Default clutch parts question [need quick answer!]

at 21k miles, the clutch on my 99 c5 went out. i had the dealership replace the clutch and slave cylinder with a 2002 z06 clutch and slave. last week, at 30k miles, the slave cylinder and throwout bearing went out. car is at the dealer now being replaced.

so, my question: does the 2002 z06 clutch use the same slave cylinder and throwout bearing as the stock 99 clutch? the reason why i'm asking is that there may have been confusion at the dealership about what parts to order and install. they knew i had a 2002 z06 clutch in the car, but they might have forgotten about that when they ordered parts.

please help!

thanks in advance.

I think all of the parts you mention are exactly the same. The parts that were improved were completely inside of the clutch assembly, not the external parts

I do know that the '02 Z06 slave/ bearing assembly has a different GM part number than the earlier units. The Master cylinder has the same number.

Here's the key part numbers for the 02 Z06:

Flywheel/Clutch assembly: 12570806
Slave Cylinder: 12562767

I do not know for an absolute fact, but I thought I heard they are different for the new one (than your old one).

(from the horse's mouth) i called GM today and spoke with a tech about the parts, and he confirmed that the part numbers are the same - the stock 99 slave cylinder and throwout bearing are identical to the 2002 z06 slave and throwout.

slave cylinder - 12562767
throwout bearing - 12564455

I agree. Maybe the original numbers have now been superseded. :)
