Default C5 Dyno Results

I purchased a 1998 C5 a couple months ago. It's equipped with a Magnuson Supercharger and exhaust. Not sure what else has been done to the engine. I put it on a Dyno yesterday and was a little disappointed with the results.
It came up with 428 RWHP.
The Dyno guy is recommending a $550.00 tune up. The car has 52,000 miles on it.
I'm thinking of getting some tune software. Any suggestions?
Do these RWHP results seem ok?

Tom

Tom,
Does the car have a cam in it? Headers? If not those are a must to maximize the potential. Also the intake needs to upgraded to an LS6 at a minimum.

If it has a magnuson roots type supercharger than it doesn't have an intake manifold on it. The supercharger is in the place of the intake manifold.

Those dyno numbers don't sound too bad since factory for 98's was around 290's at the rear you have about 130 rear hp with the supercharger. I don't believe the roots type blowers ran that much boost either. If you don't have any experience with tuning then you might want to let the experts do it since you are already working with a supercharged platform. If you're doing the tuning yourself you would still need to get it on a dyno which I assume the 550.00 from the shop will be tuned using a dyno so you would still need to have it put on a dyno for a fee anyways.

The blower does set on an intercooler. I have no idea if it has cam. It does have headers with Mangnaflow exhaust. Also looks like an after market computer. Stock air box with k&n filter

I would say it is respectable....perhaps it is low boost with the current pulley set-up. A stock LS1 should handle 6-7lbs of boost no problems.

It sounds really good to me for just the blower and exhaust. I have a magazine article that showcased that very blower on a stock C5 and it matched the manufacturer's claim of 100-110 hp over stock. I could be very happy for a while with 425 rwhp!

What they all said. 428 RWHP is quite respectable.

It also depends on the dyno and it's "calibration". You also need to appreciate that 428 at the wheels is = approx. 500 at the flywheel.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like I don't need the $550.00 tune up. I do want to change the plugs. I'm in a desert climate at 2000' elev. Any suggestions?
P.S. It is and Automatic.
Also I'm getting a 130lb oil pressure display
