Default aftermarket TPMS feedback please

I have one dead sensor.

I'm not spending $500 to convert to the new style.

I'd rather not spend the money for "GM" TPM sensors.

So, I have noticed on rock auto and eBay some aftermarket TPM sensors. If you have used non-gm sensors, please chime in. Which ones are the best, cheapest, worst, junk, whatever.

Thanks
Eric

Dorman 974-051 is the part I'm leaning toward. $65 shipped on eBay. Similar price on Rock.

I replaced the originals on my 98 about 1.5 years ago with ones from Tire Rack, Mfg, Schrader, model 28006. They ran about $63 each. Not sure of current pricing. Haven't had any issues to date.

Just in case you're interested....they were $140 + $5 shipping. I got mine from seller newpartsplus. Like I said only had them for 6 months but so far zero issues.

http://www.1stratecorvetteparts.com/index.html

bought mine for the 2000 here 189 shipped all 4, they work great.

If you good with soldering, buy the battery and find the online process for replacing it. I fixed 3 of the 4 I had and theyve worked for 1 1/2 years now but decided i wanted all new when I redid my rims.

I saw these on eBay the other day, but now they are not listed. Do you happen to remember the name of the vendor? Thanks

My 2000 C5 came with Schrader TPM sensors. I didn't want to mess with changing to the 2001's or the high cost to do it. I found a vendor who sold me four new Schrader #28006 sensors for $140.

Thanks to your positive feedback on the aftermarket versions, I ordered the eBay sensors from vendor newpartsplus.

I'm looking forward to not seeing "service tire mon sys" every time I drive the car.

Thanks
