Hi Folks,
My 03 C5 Auotomatic has developed a couple of intersting problems. Generally, for the first 15 minutes or so or 10 miles or so, upon taking off, the transmission doesn't shift as early as normal (holds RPM's and often won't shift out of 3rd to 4th). This problem was prevellant for a week or 2 and then apparently went away. I had my car at a local servic center for a standard oil change and had them read the codes (sorry - don't have them in front of me right now) and they indicated a shift solenoid problem. Fair enough. As the problem semed ok, I haven't done anything. Now - I have had some hesitation at around 1500 rpm's and not immediately shifting. Today I took the car out for a interstate run and sure enough, it ouldn't shift from 3rd to 4th (not really a bad thing as it sure keps the boiler ready), but troublesome. Then again the engine light came on (I'm sure the shift code). Now, after a while of driving, it's back to normal shifting and the engin chck light is out. Any thoughts? Thanks!!
Bob
Mine does the same thing shifting fron 2nd into 3rd during upshift by hand. if left in drive no issue. When I drop down throught the gears is down shifts right away. It just hesitates in 2nd gear. Been doing it since the day I bought it with 9k miles......... now has 102k. Never any other issues than that. I always wanted to know if any one else with an auto trans has this issue.
I'm no transmission guy but here is a link so you can pull your own codes. This is the best way to get codes on a C5. The codes are complete and give a better clue as to where the problem lies. Post your codes and people can better determine the problem. http://www.stengel.net/diccodes.htm
