Default Place for ground near headlights??

Good day everyone. I am installing some ACA pop up headlights on the vette. They have a halo led around the low beam that I am connecting to the side lights (the lights that turn on when headlight switch turns one click) to turn on when the first setting of the headlight switch is turned.

Is there a place near the headlights that I can attach the ground wire of the halo?

As I recall, when you turn the switch one click the parking lights come on but the headlights do not raise. Therefore, if you do it this way the halos will be on with your headlights down.

Yeah, I realize that and I am fine with that. The halos should continue to stay on after the lights are raised. I am fine with it.

Would I be able to use the ground (black wire) from the front corner bulb to hook up the ground of the halo (splice into it)?

You should be able to ground at connector G101. Check out this thread for the location http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...tion-long.html. While you are in there you should probably clean it up too because a lot of electrical gremlins stem from dirty ground connectors.

Would I be able to tap into the black wire of the light socket and connect my ground to it?

Heck,,, Just drill a small hole in the frame and use a self tapping sheet metal screw to secure an EYELET for the ground wire.

ANY wire on G101 is ground.

I understand that connecting to G101 or G102 would work for ground but I am trying to avoid extending the halo wire. Which is I aka if I can just tap into the black wire on the side light socket?

I don't see why not. The current draw on the halos is minimal.

and i'm sure you already know, but for the noobs: if you want the halos showing with the park lights, just turn the the low beams on then back one click & they'll stay up.
