Default LS1 upgrades?

I have a 2001 LS1 and came across some heads for sale locally. They are LS2 heads for a GREAT price with only 300 miles on them.

My question would be what kind of performance increase could I see if I swapped heads and threw in a small cam?

I always wanted some LS6 heads but these are really priced nice and if they offer almost the same performance I might jump on them...

Thanks,

Mike.

LS2 heads are LS6 heads. They are the same casting. Sometime different numbers. the 02-04 LS6 heads have the special valves. Check the casting numbers either 243 or 799 if memory serves me right. Same flow rate.

These heads have the 317 casting number on them.

From what I am reading online they are from the 6.0l and have a larger combustion chamber. Not sure if they would increase performance or just make lower compression.
