Will someone with a removed timing cover measure the hole where the seal goes in for me. Please I'm fixing to make an alignment tool for centering the cover. The seal measures 2.845", there is some press to the fit so the housing measurement will be closer. Thanks

Hi bracketshark,
We have one you might be interested in. We just made them. They will be on our website in the next day or two for $19.95.
Here is a video of how it works.
Yes sir I'll take one, I can't believe someone hasn't made these before now. You can use the balancer installer to push the seal in and not even use the hammer, especially useful in the car.

My suggestion to Sac City would be, cut a notch in the tool, to allow for cranks that have been pinned.
Thanks for your input on improving our products, we appreciate it!
That's a good idea, but when you pull the harmonic balancer off doesn't the pin come off with it. Our test engine was pinned but it came off with the harmonic balancer.
I don't think the pin will come out easy, if you use the ATI pin kit. I think I'm going to do both pin kits, ATI first then the one that pins from the front. I don't see where it can hurt anything.

Hi bracketshark,
I think you and leadfoot4 might have a good point. There may also be cranks that are keyed. So we will incorporate the groove. Thanks guys you for your input. Being that we like to bring you the best products we can, we really like to listen to what have to say. Makes for a better product.

I'll have to check in with you in a few weeks, as I'm planning on installing a new harmonic balancer on my car within the next month or so, and your tool looks like a good thing to have. (I'm planning on "pinning" my crank with the ATI fixture)

We have them ready to go with the groove for the pin.
