Transmission problems

Too many people have taken their C5 & C6 transmissions to local transmission shops only to have problem after problem and no recourse for corrective repair.
If it were me,,,,,, I would research and use one of the forum vendors who specialize in making our transmissions work correctly. Call each one that your are going to consider, discuss your goals and see what they recommend and charge.
IF,,,,,,,,, you change anything in the trans that affects shift pressures or shift timing, the PCM has to be professionally tuned to compensate for the hardware changes.
Look at what you want to do or future plan to do with the engine. More power usually means rearend ratio change and converter change and that means that you should add a transmission cooler.
Here is the list of forum sponsor vendors to look at:

Thank you for responding to the thread, I see that Scoggin Dickey was on the list for vendors. I live about 45 miles south of Lubbock, two months ago I took my vette in there for a radiator leak, after having it for two days said I don't have a leak. That weekend had a little time and removed some of the covering and as clear as day could see the crack on driver side of radiator. So I would be a bit worried to take my car in for the transmission. The shop I took my car was recommended by a car dealership that only sells corvettes, from 1959 to 2013 models. I'm not looking to beef up or add anything, just need it to get me back and forth to school.

You can do a tranny swap in a good afternoon!
Something to consider. That way, you can shop a reliable shop that can build it right later down the line.
