I have a 2001 Roadster and we just went on a spring run. The car was taken out of storage 1 week ago and ran for approx. 80 miles and no problems. Went on the run a week later and ran for 5 hours with stop and starts. No issues. Next morning there was no power what so ever had to jump start. System showed charging with approx. 15 amps. Made a couple start and stops on the way home and no problems starting. Next morning totally dead. No power what's so ever. Battery draining overnight. Battery was replaced approx. 2 years ago. Only 45000 miles with about 5000 m. per year.
The only thing that comes to mind is during the trip over the weekend the parking brake was left on for a short distance.
There are several things that commonly cause battery drain issues.
1. Check and see if there are any interior lights staying on. Best done at night. If you turn the dimmer switch all the way up, the interior lights stay on.
2. The Seat Multifunction Switch /s can stick in an active position and the seat will try and drive to that position continuously (it’s on a resettable circuit breaker)
3. There are Hot in ON and Start/Run Relays that can stick in the shut/on position (the contacts weld together) The proper way to trouble shoot those is to stick an AMP meter in series with the NEGATIVE battery terminal and pull fuses.
