Successfully weld headers?

Successfully weld headers?

I believe I have a leaking FLP Header. Is it possible to successfully weld the header? If so, what type of welder should I look for?

I would assume the header can be welded with it in the car, depending on the location of the area that needs to be welded. My 1971 Buick Gran Sport Stage 1 had Kenne Bell headers on it, which wrap around the steering and need to be welded together after they were positioned on the car. When a crack developed in one of the header tubes, I took it to a local exhaust shop and they were able to weld it. Good luck.

Any decent welding shop should be able to weld stainless. Some exhaust shops should be able to do it too.

I've had several headers (broken air tubes) welded in the car. Shouldn't be a problem. Either TIG, preferred, or even a well set up MIG will work.
