Choice, junkyard or insulated from forum vendor. I think my insulated makes a difference.

It helps stiffen the chassis, especially when twisted. They'd better put one back on for you.

Unacceptable. Question is, what the heck did they do with it? It stiffens the chassis.

And blocks some heat. Your console must be pretty toasty by now!

I would think that regardless of it is a corvette of a hyndai if a shop left a part off of a car then it is unacceptable.

Think about upgrading to the Elite Engineering 3/8" tunnel plate. It helps stiffen the body. They will have to remove the exhaust system to get it on so now would be a great time to upgrade. I noticed an immediate difference in twisting resistance.

What vendor sells these...??
Also new to C5 world And seems now that weather is warmer, I notice more heat from tunnel area and shifter boot also gets pretty warm. Is this normal?

Might as well see if you can find a used C6 plate or aftermarket one. It will do more for chassis stiffening than the thin stocker.

I had an elite engineering one but with my TSP X pipe I would have had to cut holes for the 02 sensors. I didnt have anything that would cut that thick of metal so I had to sell it and go with the stocker.

Yes, the C6 tunnel plate is thicker and another option if you can get one cheap with shipping.

What is different about the TSP xpipe that would cause you to have to cut it?

It is 3 inches to start with plus they have the 02 sensor bungs at an angle that causes the sensors to touch the tunnel plate when installed. You have to cut a hole in the plate above the 02 sensor location so they do not touch.

No difference in the C5Z plates. A base C6 plate is an upgrade to the C5Z as well as the Base C5.

Didn't the Z06 use the convertible tunnel plate for extra stiffness? Not sure, but someone told me that once.

No.
All GM C/5 plates are the same thickness.
