Default More HP

As I am new to this Corvette thing I was wondering what is the easiest and the best way that isn't going to brake the bank to get 30-50 Hp out of my stock Ls1 engine?

CAI, Underdrive Pulley, Tune, 160 thermostat, Ported Trottle Body, HP wires, and custom tune, can get you about 30-35 more HP. That is at the crank.

If you want up to 70 more HP, add headers to the mix and iridium plugs. Again at the crank. This should get you right at 400 RWHP.

Corvettes utilize a computer controlled engine mnagement system. A customized tune will maximize the computer controls to get the most horsepower from the engine. Again a search will provide you with a wealth of information from the basics on how it works and what a customized or performance tune will do.

You're using a ridiculously optimistic dyno to get a LS1 anywhere close to 400rwhp with some bolt-ons.
it took all those bolt ons plus new heads and a cam to get me at 440 rwhp. those last 40 were expensive i guess. with LS6 intake, headers, and a mail in tune i was right at 330.

aren't the oem plugs iridium?

Well,,,, Its widely known and well understood that SPARK PLUGS & PLUG WIRES (NO matter who makes them or how much they cost) will NOT increase HP or Tq on our C5's or C6's.

If you replace damaged, worn or defective wires and plugs, you will gain back any LOST performance that was caused by the bad plugs and wires.

In fact,, ported 160 deg stats don't directly ADD power either. It just helps keep the engine cooler so timing isn't reduced when it very hot

Real increases can be seen by adding, LT headers, Cold Air Intakes, CAM and ported higher compression heads (on NA applications)

Once you start increasing POWER, you will find out that you have to improve other parts; Bigger injectors, better valve springs push rods and rockers, ect Oh,, then theres the TUNE.. It has to be done..

Then some find that their clutch goes south or their A4 cant handle the power or the rear end pops an output shaft.

Its a slippery slope and a sickness!!
