Default Haunted Drivers Seat

2001 vert. Just recently put in a "new" BCM (from 2001 Z06). My driver seat has suddenly decided on its own way of functioning:

The button that moves seat forward and reverse (middle), works only forward. When put into reverse, the rear of the seat lifts.

The rear button of the 3, when moved to lift seat, lowers it and telescopes the steering wheel back into dash. When moved to lower seat, the steering wheel comes out.

The front button, when activated to lift front of seat, also at same time, reclines back. When activated to bring down front of seat, causes it to go down and move backward.

The column switch for adjusting steering wheel is completely non functional now.
The three pump buttons work normally. The passenger side is completely normal functioning.

Prior to this I was having an issue of having the seat stop intermittently while moving forward or backward. It will move 4-6 inches, shut off and restart if I reclick the button....this would repeat itself until I got seat where I wanted it. Switch? SDM module? BCM reprogram needed? All of the other RPO seem to match my car as all is otherwise working fine. And the passenger electric seat is functioning normally.

Gremlin king's last hurrah!

Sounds like a bad ground in the seat harness to me.

Doc

Are the PART NUMBERS on the old and new BCM exactly the same???

You may have to have the MEMORY RPO programmed into the new BCM. That requires a TECH 2.

Try this:

Reinstall your OLD BCM. There are self resettable circuit breakers in the Instrument Panel Fuse Panel. Remove the old break for that function and install new one. I would be willing to bet cash that that was your original issue.

One of the breakers that controls that function is defective and cant handle the NORMAL CURRENT required move the seat. It trips under normal use and then shortly later resets.

A new breaker should resolve that issue.

The only other option is the motor for that function is drawing too much current. Swap breakers and see if the fault swaps positions.
