Valve spring question??
I read that stiffer performance valve springs are more brittle when cold. That they are prone to breaking if you don't let your car warm up before hammering it. Is there any truth to this? Are they really going to fracture if I hit the gas too hard when my car is not fully warmed up?
Just installed a set of Brian Tolley springs and a new cam. '03 Z06

Hammering on it cold the valve springs are the least of your worries, springs have the same rate hot or cold.
However piston to bore clearance's are not the same and can cause extensive damage.
