Default requesting SLP Blackwing intake info

First of all, yes, I did search.

I just bought a '99 Coupe that has Corsa exhaust, shorty headers and a Blackwing intake system.

Does anyone have the information SLP would have provided about their Blackwing intake system? I know, generally, how to maintain it, but I'm not sure how to remove it for maintenance or how to "read" the indicator that shows when it needs maintenance.

This is my first Corvette, so I'm still on the steep portion of the learning curve.

Thanks for any info.

Do a Google search for "SLP Blackwing installation". There are several websites with instructions for installation, removal and cleaning. You'll need a cleaning kit.

When the flow indicator is GREEN, the filter is clean. Any other color lets you know its time. Take the filter off, brush the dirt out/off with a soft bristle brush (gently), spray the Blackwing cleaner onthe filter generously on both sides, let soak for about 15-20 min, then rinse throughly from the underside of the filter out with warm water from the tap, like for instance the tap from the laundryroom tub. NEVER USE POWER/HOSE to rinse off the filter. Shake excess water off, then use a cloth towel to pat dry the filter. Spray evenly the Blackwing oil on both sides of the filter. DO NOT SOAK THE FILTER WITH OIL!! Then replace on the intake. Make sure that the hose is plugged in securely, clamps are aligned and tight. Start the engine, checking for codes. If you have codes, check the clamps to re-tighten. As an aside....... You could also modify the shroud for cold outside air, more air means more power. The Blackwing ranks as one of the best filters out there, MORESO with a modified shroud.

Thanks for the responses.

It "appears" I can just disconnect the MAF, loosen the clamp at the throttle-body and then lift (slide) the intake up, to the rear and out. Is that how it's removed?

Thanks again,
