so I have a 3rd to 4th gear grind in my car...it does have fresh fluid amsoil torque drive, but it still grinding, I have followed the how to on adjusting the shifter, but it still does it. I am just at a crossroad on if I should pull my transmission or not..can the 3rd and 4th gear synchronizers be replaced by them selves or is it deeper then that?
so with that said I am thinking its time to pull the transmission and have it fixed. I am pretty confident that I can do this my self, just a bit nervous is all..i have several how to's saved, but any other advise I can get on what all I should do while the drivetrain is removed from the car...its a 2003 Z06 44k miles.
talk to rik kim and he seems to think its my blocker rings I think he what he referred to them as causing the grinding issues..and that makes sense and seems like more of what it could be causing my issues...
I talked to a few other people today and they all seem to think its my clutch master cylinder that is going out and needs to be replaced with a adjustable one, which make ok sense to me, but my fluid is clean as I do the ranger method once a month, and I have only had the clutch pedal to the floor once meaning I had to pick it back up with my tip of my foot...so any more ideals?
Hmmmmmm,,, Put the car in FIRST GEAR on flat level ground. Release the brake and rev the engine up to around 5000 RPMs.
If you have a CLUTCH RELEASE issue, the car will creep or move forward.
If you have a clutch issue, you will have other issues shifting UP and DOWN thru the gears.
Its always a good Idea to keep the clutch fluid clean and fresh but,,,,,,,,,, thats not going to help your issue.
