Traction System Active....on the freeway
I put my drag pack on and went racing tonight. It consists of GTO spares with M/H 26x17 fronts and Z06 rears with 275/40/17 Hoosier drag radials.
I've used this before, but never drove with it on the freeway.
No issues while racing. No issues driving to the track, never went over 55, and didn't use the freeway.
On the way home, I made it about 8 miles at around 60mph and the car starts to slow....hmmmm...give it gas and nothing.....then I noticed the DIC stating Traction System Active.
The trans downshifted, and it took the throttle from me. 38 was as fast as it would go. Once off the freeway, DIC message goes away, and all was fine.
So, I can tell you that the fronts are taller than the rears. So I'm sure this is why this happened. I'm just puzzled why it let me drive that far, before the system decided to activate?

Turn the AH/ABS OFF when driving with the drag pack on!
Changing the tires this AM, it was clear the rear rotors were red hot, one is now cracked. They are the GM cross drilled......
