c5 gas tanks
Have a 2002 vette ive had it for 9 months ,last month i took it to a chevy dealer because of a strong smell of gas after filling it up it would go away after driving it about 40 miles, they said it was the r side gas tank they installed a used one for 950 bucks, a week later i got the same problem now they say its the left tank that needs to be relaced,thats 950 bucks again!! Does anyone know if this is a comman problem & is that a fair price? I feel like im being rtpped off... If u know email at mickeyd187@comcast.net thanks copper2:

It isn't a common problem. Don't know about the prices of used fuel tanks but the install isn't easy. Assuming a price of $200 for the tank the total price may be appropriate for a dealership.
