Acrylic cover
My state requires the front plate on cars (much to my dismay). I ordered one of the acrylic covers that conforms to the original front bumper lines. The question I have is-
When I take off the "Corvette" body colored plate to mount the license plate and put this cover on, will there be a backing plate or bracket there to screw the plate and/or this new acrylic cover into?

YES,, There will be reinforced places to screw the plate on to the bumper.
I live in one of those states also. I said SCREW IT and have been plateless for 12 years now. So far so good!

Thanks Bill, I may try that too. I really hate to have to put that plate on the front and don't know how much the LEOs enforce it. Might be fun to "test" them.

Put the plate on and put the cover back over the plate. Figure out a way to attach the cover with VELCRO. I you get a plate stop,
OH ****,, I went to a car show and forgot to take the cover back off..
Pull the cover off and he probably wont ticket you.
I live near a navy base and there are car from many different states so the police are less tuned on cars without front plates.
