Hey how is it going as you can probably tell by the name im a long time mustang fan but recently got into the LS scene and bought a 98 C5 which I absolutely love and is worlds from what any of my 3 mustangs are!
Ive spent the last month or so reading on here looking for a hand held and seen the vinci was highly recommended but when I contacted vinci today they no longer make their programmers.Besides the hypertech all ive found is the F.A.S.T tuner are these any good?
The car is a 1998 C5 sebring silver 6 speed and so far the mods are a halltech cold air kit,Hurst pro billet shifter, and a borla stinger cat back if it matters my future mods will include long tube headers, mid pipe,an aftermarket intake, and possibly a cam.

i would save your money and get a either a mail order tune if you need one or go with someone local who can tune your car...you will gain a lot more from that then a hand held programmer imo
Id love to have a shop tune it but unfortunately we have none local so my only options are handheld or as you said mail order.
Mail order sounds like it might be the way to go.What are some good reputable tuners?
I don't plan to get too wild just normal bolt ons.
I know people are somewhat concerned about their privacy, especially lately, but how about giving us somewhat of an idea of where you're located? Maybe somebody here will know of a shop near you.
The closest place I know of is Anderson and their prices for running mustangs is down right outrageous!to tune my GT they quoted me 1100$ in Dyno time before Any parts.on top of the fact to tune they told me I needed injectors, may, pulley, fuel pump, all of which they sell so I'm guessing he tried to upsale me.
I've done quite a bit of looking on here and it seems like the 2 most recommended mail order tuners are cow and ecs.without starting anything who's the best?I'm not a fan of mailing off my PCM so I was kind of leaning towards cow due to the autocal.but what's that all involve to properly tune?and what do the future tunes cost?I'm assuming this isn't a life time of free tunes after purchasing the tuner or am I incorrect?
Rpm transmissions ( i believe they tune as well) is in Anderson. That shop is no joke and have some very fast cars. I know a few other people in anderson that can steer u in the right direction.
Anderson does have some seriously fast cars but their prices are ridiculous! for all the more Ill be doing I can't justify that kinda money on bolt ons and wheels.
I'm in central IL also. Sorry, but I don't know a good tuner near us.
I was looking at buying a HPTuners Pro to datalog and tune my own. I have heard that they can do well, and you can make changes as your set up changes. Try looking in the scan an tune section also for more advice.
Off topic, but Rolling Prairie Corvette Club is in Decatur. Drop in at Miles Chevrolet the first Tuesday of every month and or go on some of our events/cruises/etc.
