Chrome alternator
I was looking for a chrome alternator and a couple of the top Corvette parts vendors carry them but there seems to be a problem. The one for a 2004 says it's for an automatic only so what's the difference in an alternator for an automatic and one for a 6 speed?

Tuff stuff is one of the few manufacturers that makes the chrome alternators. I tried to buy one from several of the vendors on line about 6 months ago only to find out several days later that they did not have them and apparently Tuff Stuff produces them only once or twice a year. If your going to buy I would highly recommend calling and either making sure they have it in stock or that they have called Tuff Stuff and there available.

if you are handy with tools, it is possible to chrome the one you have. but you have to take it completely apart and send the housing to the chromer. there was a thread here or maybe i saw it in a you tube video, not sure. it looked cool though. i was actually thinking of picking up a decent used one and experimenting.

In the end though, if you sent yours out to get chromed, you probably wouldn't save much over buying one already done and then just selling your old alternator to recoup some of the cost.
