I currently have a DTC for a rear knock sensor. From what I understand they are in the valley under the intake manifold. Is it easy to remove the intake manifold to acess the knock sensors?

Yes it's easy..but just a tip for ya.. There's a bulliten for rear knock sensor.. Check for corrosion. From the top of my head, I think your suppose to seal the knock sensor connector seal with RTV. I'd have to double check the exact instructions, but I remember a bulliten and it was due to water intrusion and corrosion. Worth looking into.
You will need a fuel line disconnect tool, 10mm deep socket, pliers for hose removal(unless you have a TB bypass), and a screwdriver. That and about an hour. Really pretty easy. If you have any questions while you are doing it, feel free to give me a call. I will try and help you out the best I can.
Good Luck,

Good Luck,
Ya' don't need no stinkin' fuel line disconnect tool, Chris ;). Remove the bolts holding the fuel rail in place, pop out the fuel rail and swing it over to the driver's side. Check out ls1.fbody.com (intake install) for more info. This is how I did mine. I can do them in 35 min or less now :)
Disconnect the battery and then relieve the pressure in the fuel rails first keeping the injectors on the rail. Plan to spend 60 - 90 minutes on the job and don't forget the little black vacuum hose that fits in the rubber connector behind the intake... Good luck!

Heck of a lot easier to disconnect the fuel line IMHO. :) You can buy the tool for a few dollars....

Thanks Everyone,
I called my local Chevy dealer, Vette mechanic and he printed the TSB on the knock sensor and some other info out for me. I think I can check the resistance of the sensor with out taking off the intake manifold. I would hate to take it off an find the problem was some where else.
Thanks again
Luke
