I recently purchased a 03 vert with 1200 miles on it. I am looking to modify the engine to get 400+hp out of it without breaking the bank. Does anyone have a suggestion?

The only way not to break the bank will be to do the work yourself. You will need a cam, heads and/or head work, Intake, and Long tube headers. Is it an auto or manual trans?

Another low mileage corvette. What are these people thinking ? I just cannot for the life of me understand why people don't drive these cars. Oh well their loss, loss of fun and money.
On the other hand you probably got a killer deal on a practically new car.
Congrats.

My Corvette has an automatic transmission I was going to put a shift kit in it.

Not necessary , These 4L60E's have what other cars get shift kits to match. You can get tuning done to adjust shift points and pressures though.
