Just thought I would share the results of the new tires I am running. Sizes are 265/35-18 front and 295/35-18 rear. The S-02's hook much better than the Michelin Pilots I was running. Treadwear is 140  and yes they feel like my BFG Street Slicks so I am not sure how long they will last. But why drive a high performance car and put touring tires on it! :nono: A plus is the tread design looks better than any other design I have seen. Of course that is debateable...

I definately give them 2 thumbs up. :yesnod:
:) Of course they hook... That's why they were standard equipment on the 993 Twin Turbo. I used to go through a set of tires each summer. They have amazing wet/dry traction, but the tires are so soft that you won't get more than 1 season out of them.
If I was smart, I would have bought stock in Bridgestone at the time I bought my Porsche. :)
One of my 3 choices for tires. I wound up purchasing the KD's though (My other choice were actually the S03's but I heard from so many who switched form S02's to S03's that they missed the S02's and thought it was a better tire. Go figure.
Whats up Gary? I have not heard from you in a while. So what is the news with upgrading the Viper to a Vette.:D
You like them better than the Pilot Sports? Are they really that much better for traction?
Buckmaster my Pilots were actually pretty good when they were new but the more worn they got the less traction I had. Of course that same principal may apply to the S-02's and all tires for that matter but I just don't remember my Pilots gripping like the S-02's do now. I am also putting alot more power to the ground than before. The tread is very soft almost like my drag slicks.
What the largest size i can get these bridgestones to fit my stock 98 C5 rims? And what is cost of tires. Do they hook better that BFG KDWS?
Nitrovette :smash:
I know some people are running 295/35-18's on stock rims but I am not sure how they will look or perform. The only other size that will fit with S-02's are a 275/40-18(stock size). They make 285/30-18's but that will be much too small of a sidewall.
The 295/35-18's cost $248 from Tire Rack. That is a hell of a deal compared to what they used to cost...
I honestly do not know if they hook better than the BFG's but the treadwear on BFG's are 200 and 140 for the Bridgestones. I know some people swear by the BFG's though.
