Trans noises
I replaced the clutch last year with a Monster Stage 2 and everthing went well. Put a about 3000 miles on it and now I am getting a grinding noise that seems to be coming from the trans. I does not happen all the time but mostly on downshifts to third or second. At times it also makes a grinding noise sometimes going into third on upshift. I have amsoil torque drive fluid in the trans.
It almost seems on the downshift that it is not totally releasing from the other gear. I put the shifter in neutral and the noise continues for a few seconds and then goes away.
I feel its either bad syncros or it needs a linkage adjustment. I know the car had third gear syncro replaced before bought it and I have not drag raced the car so I cant see why syncros would be bad.
I want to try the adjustment first.
Does anyone have a write up on how to adjust linkage on a C5 Z06?
