Default A/C Problem...Please help!!

I was recently having a problem with the display on my climate control dimming to the point that I could barely read it. I seen that many people on this forum had the same problem. So I read on here that it most likely is the power modual in the climate control unit and the solder joints on the 8 .....241 resistors may have been broken loose. So I then opened it up, soldered the ends of the 241 resistors and put it back together. The display lit, just like brand new. I then turned on my A/C and put it on the coldest temp. It does not seem like it's cooling. The passenger side seems like it's cooling better. I then opened up the hood and felt the pipe coming from the a/c compressor and it feels freezing and is sweating.....so I believe that there is enough freon in the system. When I put the heat on full, it heats both sides very hot. So can my problem be that I may have not done a very good soldering job and that is causing it not to cool, or can it be that I do need more freon even though the lines under the hood are freezing. Thank you

It may be one of your actuators are not working correctly. Pull the codes using the dic and see if you have anything under the hvac section. Resetting the code or disconnecting the battery will reset the actuators and sometimes fix the problem.
The only way to tell if you need more freon is by checking the pressures with gauges.

Thanks for the reply BigGun. I checked for codes in the dic under hvac and there were no codes. I reset it anyways and I could hear the actuators reset behind the dash. I also checked the fuses for the ac and disconnected the battery, but no luck. The air on the passenger side is cool but not very cold. The air on the driver side is just like the air temp outside. I'm just going to take apart the controller again and try to resolder the 241 resistors and go from there. I still dont believe I'm low on freon because the pipe under the hood is freezing. If you have anymore suggestions I would appreciate them. Thank you

there's plenty of threads on the hot one side, cold other side issue. I don't believe the soldering or freon level has anything to do with it. Hope that helps

Well I figured it out. It was just low on freon. I filled it up and now it cools to 40 degrees. Thanks for all the replys, this is a great forum. Very much appreciated.
