G-Tech Pro Competition Performance Meter
The screen is real hard to see in the sunlight, but when the sun goes down it looks almost like an Indiglo watch, very easy to see. I'll post a pic.
In the manual they explain how to download your numbers to a file on your PC, I did so and here were the results... Not too sure how accurate they are.

That new unit looks very cool.

I never had the old model so I cannot compare... I've had my car run an 11.17 at the dragstrip (with a great driver, not me...) so I know that 12.09 was possible, I didn't have a good launch so the numbers were low. (kind of nervous, was running on the highway)
They do not include software (they do give you the cable), they say it will be released later. The software they are releasing will be able to download the data and put it into charts and graphs automatically. In the manual they give you the website of a program that will download the raw text data from the Gtech and you can manipulate that manually. I posted samples from the file above.

Well, I put in an order online for Mid America but told them not to process it if it was back-ordered. They called this morning and said that not only was it back-ordered for a few weeks, but that the price had been increased by the manufacturer to $349. I canceled the order and called G-Tech and they said that it wouldn't be out for another two months---even though I recalled reading something about it on the Forum. So then I did a search and found this post.
I called Summit Racing and they were really nice and I just ordered one for the original $249.95. So you guys just saved me $100 and there is no CA sales tax and has cheaper shipping too. I mentioned the Forum and their return policy as being the reason I was shopping there.
By the way, I read in an article that it measures rwhp instead of engine hp and assume that's correct, right? If so, I already have a dyno sheet so I can make comparisons between before and after the air induction mods.
Thanks again. This Forum is great.

I'm pretty excited about getting this and will be able to share it with some of my C5 friends too. I wonder if it might help my friend who does autocrossing?

For those that have theirs already I'm sure you will agree it is a GREAT little device. The wierd part is calibration. Man, what a pain! Some of the calibration is like a video game!
The good part is, after it finally IS calibrated it doesn't have to be done again unless there is an extreme temperature change or you move it to another vehicle.
What is everyone entering for the vehicle weight on a coupe? I haven't officially weighed mine yet so I used the GVWR on the door of 3713 lbs. Since this weight factors in 2-180 lb occupants I subtracted off 180 lbs to get a rough weight with me as the sole occupant. I also assume this figure is with a full tank of fuel.
So for now I am using a vehicle weight of 3533 (3713 - 180) and entered this into the G-Tech.
Anyone weigh their Coupe with a full tank?
BTW, one neat feature, especially for you M6 drivers, is that it has a built in sequential shift light that uses ultra bright LED's. You just program in your RPM redline and your good to go! :yesnod:
