G-Tech Pro Competition Performance Meter
I have used a G-Tech Pro for years and its a neat device but left a little to be desired in what it would do. Like record multiple runs, for instance.
Their new generation meter is now out and it cures all of the old G-Tech Pro problems. It uses 4 accellerometers instead of 1.
It can store 1 hour of data and play it back on the LCD screen or a PC.
It now records times to 1/100 of a sec.
Check it out it is a very cool gadget. BTW I have no affiliation with G-Tech, I just love cool gadgets! :D
Also, on their website it says coming Winter 2002 but I just called JC Whitney (it showed them in their newest catalog) and they have 48 in stock so I ordered one. :)

Please give us some reports as soon as you guys do some evaluations! I too am a sucker for gadgets (have too many digital weather stations around the house and my wife said not to buy any more or else!).

>>>What value is it without the software?<<<
The software will allow you to download and save it to your computer but in the meantime all recorded info can be recalled and displayed on the units LCD screen.

That makes sense, thank you. I think Mid America also has it but they were saying that the $249.00 listed int the catalog was an error and are asking $349.00. If Whitney or summit are sticking with the $249.00 price one of them will get my order. I also have the original G tech pro. Does ;the new one have to be perpetualy leveled to O and have the vehicle weight reentered every time you turn the unit on and off?

All I can say is that Mid America won't sell any at $100 more than everyone else. I'm thinking they had to be mistaken about the price since JC Whitney and Summit have them for $249.

I now have it... It was kind of a pain to do the calibration, but other than that it's cool. It's a little smaller then I thought it was goindg to be. I haven't used it for times yet, but after dinner I plan on doing a few runs.
Here are some pics... (sorry for the poor quality...)

Cool pictures. I can't wait to see how this one stacks up compared to the old one accuracy-wise. Has anyone run the old and new side-by-side yet? I was shopping for a gtech last winter but when I found out a new model was on the way I decided to wait. There was another company (can't remember the name) that sells a similar device and they too were coming out with a new version.
