Hit a big chunk of semi tire tread that came off and was laying in the center of the highway lane. The car in front of me went over it, and it then suddenly appeared in the center of my lane and I had no time to react, so clenched my teeth and drove over it at ~65 MPH. It hit the center air dam and the air dam flexes, but it got chewed up some and I want to replace it.
What's the cost of that piece and is it hard to change out?
Hello, the air dam can be replaced at a reasonable price, just search the CF vendors. But I would slap an eye ball on the structural piece that the air dam is attached to; to see if it got torn-up or bent also as those “road alligators” can tear some chit up on our Corvette’s!
Air Baffles and Seals
The cooling system uses deflectors, air baffles and air seals to increase system cooling. Deflectors are installed under the vehicle to redirect airflow beneath the vehicle to flow through the radiator and increase cooling. Air baffles are also used to direct airflow into the radiator and increase cooling. Air seals prevent air from bypassing the radiator and A/C condenser. Air seals also prevent recirculation of the air for better hot weather cooling and A/C condenser performance.
