Default Corsa Indy Cat Backs TOO LOUD

Can't find the info I want. I've got a 11000 mi 2002 C5 Z06, cammed, LG long tube pro headers, 3" dia. pipes w/small cats - straight back, no X. I have a new Corsa Indy w/Tiger Shark tips cat back system on now and the sound is sweet enough to make your leg wet - but too loud. Corsas are a bitch to install compared to earlier Borla that droned. Corsa used to offer a quieter muffler than the Indy but can't find on their web site. If I could find, I might try the new mufflers so I don't have to change the whole system.

This Vette has never seen a drop of rain that I know of. The C5 looks stock except for wheels & tires but I have more mods in this car - they fill a 8.5x11 sheet of paper. Might sell for $30k & not a dime less. If I could find a pristine (shiny) stock ti. system I would be tempted to trade. I know C5s may be getting "long in the tooth" but I love my garage queen and still dynoes @ 425.2 hp naturally aspirated.

If any members have any suggestions or info on getting the 2 more quiet Corsa mufflers less the rest of the plumbing I'll dance at your next wedding.

I had the same system and after heads, cam and headers it was just too loud. I went to the stock Ti's and love the sound now.

You might add the Xpipe and it will help just a little

stock ti system should go 1 million miles

you can polish any mileage stock cat back to a luster. there's really no such thing as prestine

unless of course you want the other guy to do the polishing and for your trade, someone probably would

When I bought my car it had a Corsa Indy on it. I liked the sound but wanted to get cutouts instead, so I got a Z06 catback instead. It's not as loud but still sounds sweet (with the cutouts closed). It also weighs about half as much as the Corsa.

I have the stock Ti system. My 03 gets driven so it's not currently all that shiney but Id be willing to polish the snot out of the Ti catback if you want to trade your Corsas.

Are they for sale and if so - how much UPS to zip 75077?

Yes, I agree on the polish. There may be better but I have some Borla polish that works well. I don't want to use a wire brush, etc because that leaves scratch marks and burn spots - not the way to clean 'em up.
Has anyone tried another brand of polish that works well? As I remember, the Borla was high $ for a small 8oz bottle and I'm a tight wad - hint?

They only way I'd let these Ti's go is through a trade of some sort, I'm a tight wad like you, new exhaust kits are way too much $ for what they are and I could spend that money else where on the car lol

I installed the Corsas myself w/the Vette on stands, using their clamps but they don't hold well. Finally took to my Vette shop, Patrick Sparks, Quality Motorsports just East of Lewisville, had them get all the pipes lined up again and put a tiny spot weld @ each joint. There is twice the "plumbing" on the Corsas than on stock or Borla. We can sure talk about it. my cell is 214-682-9300 pref 9:00 - 21:00. Ask for Glen.

your Corsa's are worth between $800-$900

Stock unbent Ti's in good looking shape bring between $400-$450

I don't know if they sell them anymore, but they used to sell a "Touring" set up which was quieter than the "Pace Car" set up.

I have the Corsa Pace Cars, and with an X, they're still really loud. I love their looks, because I've got the twin-oval "Daytona'' tips, but they are pretty heavy. BTW, the Ti's are a bitch to pack for shipping, as they're worthless cut up. At least the Corsas break down.

I've about decided to buy a ti set and keep my Corsa. If you are interested in selling, shoot me a price including UPS to 75077.

We have a number of Vette shops in the DFW area and I may check with some of them to see if they have a set gathering cob webs after someone's upgrade.

That helps - when I first got the Vette I would have known these type of things but after personally installing the headers, pipes and changing cat backs twice. then leaving only the stock HU, installed a JL sound system, 2 amps & 12" sub in the "basement", then cam & 25% under drive pulley, Italian red leather sport seats and much more - - I got tired and went back to my other hobby - shooting. Making holes in paper as close together as possible and re loading - yeah, I'm a red neck.
I really appreciate the price update!
