Friend Broke Center Console Hinge...
I gave my friend a ride in my 97 yesterday and for some reason he decided to open the center console lid as wide as he possibly could not knowing that it only goes so far. I quickly closed it as fast as possible but the damage was done. The hinge now feels very flimsy and doesn't stop the lid where it once did before. I'm very frustrated to say the least. Is there a quick fix to my problem that doesn't involve a whole new hinge? Thanks.

It originally was a two part process to open it all the way. You pull it up till it hits the stop, then pull straight up and you'll feel it shift about an inch and it will open further. It sounds like he may have bent the hinge. Take a look at one that isn't bent, then straighten whatever portion got bent.
