The deflector on my C5 is bent and ripped where the bar is. The rest of the air dam is perfectly fine. The plastic and the springs are fine. But nobody sells just the bar, but the whole deflector. Does anyone know if just the bar for the deflector is sold, and not the whole deflector?
Looks like your trying to save some money. And I know how that can be. But if I were you I would just buy the the whole air dam (center section if that is what you need) and save the parts you have now to repair it in the future when you hit things. GM Partshouse has good prices. I think around $100. Its just one of those things that gets broken from time to time. GMPARTSHOUSE.COM You may go years and not break it. Or it can get smashed and broken 2 times in one year.
Guess that's what I'll do. I find that Gmpartsdirect.com usually has cheaper prices. Another place parts.nalleygmc.com usually has a better selection, and shipping is free over $500.
LOL.. Its just aluminum square tubing. It can easily be repaired. On the down side, it would probably cost $50+ to have someone repair it. If you had your own shop and welder, it would be worth repairing.
There is a vendor that is selling a complete air dam set - all three pieces for $89 in the C5 parts section. I purchased a replacement last year from him and the quality is as good as the OEM one.

gmpartsdirect have high shipping and handling charges. I'm located only an hour and a half from them and I still had to bend over for them a few months ago.

Hello DooDooBear1999,
GmPartsDirect.com sells parts near published dealer cost plus a percentage for a shipping and handling fee. This fee is not actual shipping charges only.
Keep in mind our overall price is a tremendous savings over retail price and in most cases is even cheaper than dealer wholesale shipped to your door step, and without leaving the convenience of the Mouse. Compare the overall price delivered to your door.
(In some cases our site may misprice parts. If you feel the pricing is incorrect please email us and we will gladly check on the part number in question).
If you find a lower delivered price at one of our competitors, please email us a screen shot and link of their delivered price and we will try to meet and beat their delivered price.
The shipping and handling pays for the shipping charges plus our other expenses like web programming, employees, etc. Another way to explain this is, we are selling you the part near published dealer cost, the shipping, and handling pays all of our expenses associated with running the web site. The amount left over after our expense is our profit.
