Default LS6 intake??

Bought this intake from DRM about 4 months ago. Had the dealer put it on when they were changing the check valve. It didn't make any difference. I thought that strange. I have been reading lately about tubing or water lines and stuff that should have been altered.(I have a 2000 convt). Just wondering If I got the correct intake, any way I can bee sure?

It might only add 5hp. Not much of a difference to notice.

An LS6 intake should add 10 rwhp. I've seen vendors claiming much higher but from all the posts I've read I would expect 10, even on a modded car.

GM put the LS6 intake on all 2001's & up so the dealer should have had no issues installing it...except that if it can be f'd up the dealer would be the 1st to do it.

You can check the part number on the side of the intake and cross ref it to the part if that is in question.

You usually can not tell a difference in 10 rwhp from seat of the pants. Put it on a dyno and see what you got.

Also it might take the PCM a bit to re-learn stuff.

Should have been a noticeable difference in throttle response. :flag

Hey Mike
Picked up a zo6 exhaust sat.(Not into as much sound as you young guys). Building my mods stockpile for the new car.
To your question. It will be hard to feel the difference, since the c5's are fairly well balanced. Add a cam and heads and the intake will really work.
See ya

We typically see 10-12 rwhp/rwtq with the LS1/LS6 manifolds. Did one yesterday on a 98 with FLP's and a Blackwing for mods. Before and after dyno pulls show 10 :)

Give Nate a call on Monday and ask him to post the results. I will not be back to the shop until Wednesday :)
