Default C6 rims on a C5 does it affect mileage

I am about to make the move to the C6 18/19 wheel size and was wondering if anybody has seen an affect in gas mileage. Another thing will the higher size rims affect the odometer reading in the long run?

I bought a C5 with C6 wheels and I haven't taken my foot off the gas yet, but I don't think it makes any difference

I researched overall tire diameters before switching to stock C6 size tires. Compared to stock C5 tire diameters, the C6 diameters are virtually the same, due to the wider aspect ratio of the stock C6 tires.

When checking my speedometer readout against the GPS speed readout on my Garmin, after installing the C6 tires and wheels, both read the same at 60 MPH.

The wider aspect ratio of C6 tires may affect gas mileage very slightly; but probably is too little to measure.

Wider tires will have more rolling resistance resulting in lower MPG.. Heavier wheels will also have more rotational mass resulting in lower MPG..Taller/shorter tires will result in a higher or lower mpg depending on what way you go, you are basically changing you Final drive ratio. NOW having said that you probably won't notice a difference going to a stock C6 size. If you go from like a stock C5 to a 315+ rear or something you will probably see a couple mpg difference.

It will take more energy to accelerate heavier wheels, but heavier wheels in themselves (within reason) don't affect the mpg when driving at a constant speed.

I dont mind I few onces added to the wheels and a slight mpg change. I have a stock rear and I havn't seen the cars top speed so not to concerned with that. The option of going 18/19" wheels is a must to do the c6 ZO6 calibers or I seen that putting a c5 front caliber on the rear with a z51 rotor is also an option. Thanks for the feed back.
